MUFIDZADE Jamil Miryusif oglu was born on February 24, 1934 in the city of Ordubad and died on December 20. He died in 2019 in the city of Baku. Artist, graphic People's Artist, Professor (2002). In 1982, he was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He studied at the Baku Art School named after Azim Azimzade (1948-1955), the Kiev Secondary School of Art (1955-1956) and the "Graphics" faculty of the Kharkiv State Art Institute (1959-1962). Jamil Mufidzadeh, who heads the Graphics Department at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts, is the author of a textbook called Ofort. He was awarded one of the two prizes of the International Students' Union for the "Oil" series. Known mainly as a graphic artist, Mufidzadeh is the author of a series of works in this field, such as "Icheri Sheher", "Absheron oil", "Khinalig", "North", "Mongolia", "Turkey", created on the basis of impressions of foreign trips. Jamil Mufidzadeh creatively used different techniques of graphic art. The artist worked on the xylographic technique "Baku album" (1962-1966), "Oil stones" (1965), "Fortress walls" (1966), "In the park" (1966), "Maiden's tower" (1966), "Evening on the Caspian Sea" (1966), “Romantics” (1966), “On the Roof” (1966) and others. the names of the works can be mentioned. The series "Icheri Sheher" (1965-2000) has a special place in the artist's work. His first four works in mixed media were exhibited at the Republican Exhibition in Baku in 1967 under the title "Ancient Architectural Monuments of Azerbaijan". The series "Absheron oil" drawn by Jamil Mufidzadeh in mixed media covers the years 1967-1975. The series dedicated to Khinalig (1980-1990), one of the unique settlements of Azerbaijan, occupies an important place in his work. The artist's series "In the Land of Mongolia" (1982-1986) includes a wide range of camel landscapes of the Gobi Desert. He has worked in book illustration and exlibris. He took an active part in republican, all-Union and international exhibitions. He has had 9 solo exhibitions in Baku, Tabriz, Moscow, Istanbul, as well as in Poland and France. He has participated in more than 80 international exhibitions (Austria, Canada, Cuba, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Arab countries, etc.). His works are exhibited at the Azerbaijan State Museum of Art, Azerbaijan State Art Gallery, State Museum of Oriental Art (Moscow), Maxim Gorky's Housing Museum (Moscow), Ludwig Museum in Cologne (Germany), Ulaanbaatar Art Museum (Mongolia), USA, France , Is preserved in private collections in Japan, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Iran, Finland, and other countries.
