Honored artist Ulviyya Hamzayeva's solo exhibition "In the footsteps of the ancestors" has been opened

With the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the solo exhibition of Ulviyya Hamzayeva, chairman of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, deputy of the Milli Majlis, Honored artist "In the footsteps of the ancestors" was opened in the Museum Center. More than 80 paintings of the author were displayed at the exhibition. People's artist Salhab Mammadov, vice-rector of the Azerbaijan State Art Academy, noted in his speech that Ulviyya Hamzayeva's birth in ancient Nakhchivan not only had a positive effect on her creativity, but also connected her to the homeland. The painting he dedicated to our cultural capital Shusha also shows his attachment to the Motherland, land, people, and national activities. Ulviyya's emotions in her art can be felt in this exhibition. The president of ANAS, Isa Habibbayli, said: "The plot and composition, mythological images and motifs in the works of art, symbols that give meaning to national values, composition pieces all together determine the individual uniqueness of Ulviyya Hamzayeva's art. It is clear from her paintings that Ulviyya Hamzayeva is an original artist with a different and individual style, unlike any other artist in the centuries-old Azerbaijani fine art. He is the main creator of Azerbaijani miniature painting art at the modern stage. Synthesis of folk art details with mythological images and unity with modernity defines the face of modern miniature art examples created by Ulviyya Hamzayeva. While the classical miniature painting of Azerbaijan is mainly created based on the motifs of folk dances and lyric-epic works, Ulviyya Hamzayeva's miniatures are a different art phenomenon based on mythological motifs, examples of folk art and modern philosophy of life. Ulviyya Hamzayeva is the creator of the mythological miniature genre. All this confirms that Ulviyya Hamzayeva is one of the creative figures with a different way of thinking in the art of Azerbaijan." Isa Habibbayli emphasized that the artist's creativity is known worldwide. So, while he was still studying at the university, his works were exhibited in various exhibitions in countries such as the USA, Turkey, and France and won the audience's approval. Later, the artist was actively invited to important exhibitions, festivals and symposia held in the field of painting and art in the world, and his works were evaluated at many events and received the highest awards. With his works, the artist participated in successful projects in the USA, Portugal, China, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Georgia and other countries and represented our country with his creativity in plein air. Ganira Pashayeva, Chairperson of the Culture Committee of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis, said in her speech that it is no coincidence that the author named the exhibition "In the Footsteps of the Ancestors". This proves that she followed in the footsteps of her ancestors: "Ulviyya Hamzayeva came to where she is in art following the footsteps of her ancestors. His art serves national identity. On the other hand, if people enjoy looking at art, regardless of their religion or race, then this art is universal. Even those who do not know the Azerbaijani culture deeply feel this pleasure. That is what great culture is all about. The power of an artist is the power of the soul rather than the brain. Ulviyya Hamzayeva is an invaluable artist who works successfully in Nakhchivan and conveys our traditions to future generations." Emphasizing the importance of the rich painting traditions formed in Nakhchivan, Honored artist, Doctor of Philosophy in Art Studies, Ziyadkhan Aliyev noted that artists who have reached the age of 70-80 often use an expression called "the moment of looking back in art". Because what a person has achieved in life and what he has done in his field attracts more attention when he reaches his age. It is gratifying that Ms. Ulviyya has done a lot at a young age. It is quite difficult to include any element in the work. One can sense rich traditions in Ulviyya Khanum's works. These traditions, formed at the root of the Nakhchivan school of painting, are also reflected in the works of Mrs. Ulviyya. Honored art worker Rafig Karimov read the congratulatory letter of People's Artist Farhad Khalilov, chairman of the Union of Azerbaijan Artists, and recited a poem dedicated to the artist. Ulviyya Hamzayeva's daughter Ilknur's performance on the tar, our national musical instrument, was greeted with applause by the event participants. Then Ulviyya Hamzayeva was invited to the stage. The author expressed his gratitude to those who gathered at the exhibition and invited the guests to see the exhibition.
