On October 17, 2024, an exhibition dedicated to the Day of Restoration of State Independence was held at the B. Kangarli Exhibition Hall of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Before the exhibition, the dear memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with respect.
Opening the exhibition with an introductory speech, the deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan of the 7th convocation, the chairman of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Honored Artist Ulviyya Hamzayeva, gave information about the importance of the exhibition and the exposition. In her speech, she also noted that the preservation of the achieved independence and the strengthening of the authority of Azerbaijan as an independent state among the world powers are connected precisely with the name of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Our esteemed President Ilham Aliyev, who continues the policy and ideas of our national leader and takes them to a higher level, is currently achieving great successes. We constantly see these successes in all areas of our lives. The fact that we ended the 44-day 2nd Karabakh War with a glorious victory and the actual surrender of Armenia is a clear example of this. Today, we can say with great pride that we are now the owners of our own destiny, our own country, and the state independence of Azerbaijan is eternal, permanent and unshakable. He congratulated the exhibition participants on the Day of the City of Fuzuli on October 17 and the election of the city of Lachin as the Capital of Culture, recalled the sad history of Ganja in 2020, and mourned those who lost their lives in the terrorist act carried out by Armenia. At the end of his speech, a portrait of Martyr Shukur Hajiyev, painted by Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Fikrat Babayev, was presented to his mother Fatma Khanum together with the artist.
After the presentation of the portrait, the mother of the martyr Fatma Hajiyeva, deputies of the Supreme Assembly Uzeyir Mammadov, brother of martyr Togrul Mammadov, Honored Artist Habiba Allahverdiyeva and Shahla Ahmadova made speeches on the Day of Restoration of State Independence and congratulated the participants and artists.
Cadets of the Heydar Aliyev Military Lyceum, teachers and students of Nakhchivan State University, Nakhchivan Teachers' Institute, Nakhchivan City School of Music and Art participated in the exhibition. At the end, commemorative photos were taken.
36 works by 13 artists were exhibited in the exhibition exposition.
