On December 23, an international exhibition titled "Traveling Letters" was opened at the Bahruz Kangarli Exhibition Hall of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic by the Nakhchivan Artists' Union, together with the Russian House and the Information and Culture Center.

The participants of the event first visited the monument to the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Nakhchivan city and laid flowers in front of the monument.

The memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs was commemorated with a minute of silence at the event. Chairman of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, honored artist Ulviyya Hamzayeva noted that the Decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 30, 2023 "On the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" is a significant event in the modern history of our independent and victorious country. Great Leader Heydar Aliyev said: "The autonomy of Nakhchivan is a historical achievement. We must preserve it." It was noted that, in accordance with the Presidential Decree, the 100th anniversary of the autonomy of Nakhchivan is being celebrated in most regions of our country. The Union of Artists is also holding its 10th event. 3 international exhibitions, including this exhibition, have aroused great interest. Also, since this year was also declared the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World", some exhibitions were held in accordance with the theme and contributed to the essence of this year. Today, another interesting and last exhibition of the year, "Traveling Letters", mystical, pictorial messages to future generations, are presented to art lovers. A letter is an ancient letter, carrying secrets, thoughts and messages addressed from the past to the future. World artists and artists want to address these messages to a clean, free world where peace, love, tranquility and friendship reign. The goal is to convey these messages to the world through the language of art, peace and friendship, our ancient and ethnic traditions.

The international art project "Traveling Letters" began with the initiatives of the artist and project curator Alfiya Ilyasova Sargin from Tatarstan and the artist Natalya Nikolayevna from Yakutia. This project, which began in 2006 at the Moscow House of Nations, within the framework of the III Ethnic Festival, moved from one place to another, creating cultural bridges between different peoples and gaining new meanings everywhere.

At the opening of the exhibition, the head of the Russian House Irek Zinnurov, deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sattar Mohbaliyev, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Nakhchivan Asip Kaya, Chairman of the Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS Ismayil Hajiyev, Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev, Deputy Head of the Nakhchivan City Executive Power Gulkhanim Orujova thanked for organizing the interesting exhibition and wished the artists success in their creative paths.

Then, certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants of the exhibition. Students of the Faculty of Arts of Nakhchivan State University performed folk songs performed by the vocal-instrumental ensemble "Turan" from Azerbaijan and Turkey, and a tour of the exhibition was held.

The exhibition, which will last until December 30, exhibits the works of 55 artists from 10 countries.
