An exhibition titled “Divine Elegance” opened in Nakhchivan
An exhibition titled “Divine Elegance” dedicated to March 8 – International Women’s Day was opened in the open air on the territory of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
Before the opening of the exhibition, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of our country.
Opening the event, Ulviyya Hamzayeva, Chairwoman of the Union of Artists of Nakhchivan, Member of the Milli Majlis, said that today, not only are we celebrating the strength, dedication and wisdom of Azerbaijani women, but we are also praising the elegance of their souls and the divine beauty hidden deep in their hearts. Our exhibition titled “Divine Elegance” also embodies this supreme moment. Thus, such exhibitions demonstrate to the world that Azerbaijani women are not only a symbol of heroism, but also a symbol of elegance and nobility.
It was noted that Azerbaijani women played an important role in the fate of the people. Our brave and wise women such as Tomris, Nushaba, Momuna Khatun, Sara Khatun left a bright mark on state administration and became a symbol of honor and pride of our people. Today, our women still keep that unshakable will and family values alive. She is not only the support of her family, the first teacher of her children, but also one of the pioneers of science, culture, politics, and economy.
It was emphasized that the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, is an example for every Azerbaijani woman today. Her multifaceted, tireless activity makes an unparalleled contribution to our statehood, the protection of our national and spiritual values, and the development of education, healthcare, and culture. Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva's humanitarian mission is recognized in the world as the embodiment of the high intellectual and spiritual values of Azerbaijani women. The large-scale projects and charitable initiatives implemented under her leadership once again prove that our women are a symbol of compassion, love and elegance.
At the end of her speech, Ulviyya Hamzayeva congratulated women on the occasion of the holiday and expressed her best wishes to them.
Later, among the guests of the exhibition, Mahabbat Babayeva, director of the Nakhchivan Music College, Nakhchivan Teachers' Institute teacher, art critic Nizami Aliyev, artist Gahraman Tagiyev, and director of the Bahruz Kangarli Museum Sabina Alinjali spoke about the strength, heroism and elegance of Azerbaijani women and expressed their best wishes and congratulations to them.
It should be noted that the exhibition, which will last for 2 days, will showcase about 70 paintings and decorative and applied art works by 23 artists.
