Yuran Məmmədov

MAMMADOV Yuran Ali oglu was born on April 15, 1934 in the city of Nakhchivan and died on March 22, 1984 in the city of Riga. He studied at the Baku Art School named after Azim Azimzade (1955) and the Academy of Arts named after IY Repin in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) (1960). He created paintings with portrait, still life and thematic compositions. Among them are "Hachadag", "Batabat", "Alinja fortress", "Vaykhir village", "Araz", "Shahbuz landscapes", "Spring in Nakhchivan", "Our family", "For the motherland" and others. can be listed. The artist worked for more than 18 years as a founding artist at the Nakhchivan State Musical Drama Theater named after Jalil Mammadguluzadeh. He staged "Sensiz", Huseyn Razi's "Gunesh", Hasan Elsever's "Impregnable Fortress", Aziz Nesi's "Taurus Monsters", Kaugver's "Heavy Punishment" and other works. He had solo exhibitions in Nakhchivan, Baku, St. Petersburg and the Baltic republics. His works are preserved in the National Museum of Azerbaijan Art named after Rustam Mustafayev, Nakhchivan State History Museum, Nakhchivan AR Museum of Literature named after J. Mammadguluzade, Julfa District Museum of History and Ethnography, etc. in museums and private collections.
