On November 29, 2018, an exhibition of works by prominent artist Ibrahim Safiyev opened at the Bahruz Kangarli Exhibition Hall of the Artists' Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Chairman of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Honored Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ulviya Hamzayeva said that the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic "On the 120th anniversary of the great artist Ibrahim Safiyev" dated October 17, 2018 It is an expression of the attention paid to the legacy of a prominent artist and the high value given to the art of painting in the autonomous republic, as well as serving the wider research and study. Today, in accordance with the Action Plan approved by the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an exhibition of his works is being held on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of prominent artist Ibrahim Safiyev. Originally from Nakhchivan, the artist is known in the history of Turkish art for his unique style and brought a new breath to Turkish art. Continuing the progressive traditions of world art, the artist has created many paintings, including landscapes and portraits in various genres of painting. In his paintings, feelings and emotions, shapes and forms, colors are masterfully depicted with the power of the brush. The famous artist has enriched his life with art with countless valuable works.

Ulviya Hamzayeva thanked the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on behalf of the artists and intellectuals of the autonomous republic for the high attention and care shown to the legacy of the prominent artist Ibrahim Safiyev.

Chairman of the Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS, academician Ismayil Hajiyev emphasized that in our autonomous republic, along with all areas, the dark pages of our history are illuminated, our historical personalities are presented and introduced to our people and the general public. Recently, two orders of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic - the celebration of the 120th anniversary of prominent artist Ibrahim Safiyev and the historic decisions on the study and research of the legacy of prominent scientist Nematullah Nakhchivani have caused deep interest and gratitude of the intelligentsia and the general public.

It was noted that the famous artist Ibrahim Safiyev was interested in painting from an early age, and at the age of 12 he painted his first painting "Araz fishermen". He later devoted his entire life to art, despite the difficulties he faced for obvious reasons. He preferred realism in his work and demonstrated the traditions of world art in his works. Personal exhibitions of the artist have been organized in many countries around the world. The novelty and unusualness of the artist's portraits and other works made of thick mosaics are obvious. Ibrahim Safiyev is a person worthy of recognition and promotion as a prominent Azerbaijani artist.
