At the event held in connection with this, first of all, the memory of our heroes who died for the freedom and sovereignty of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Ulviyya Hamzayeva, the deputy chairman of the culture committee of the Milli Majlis, the chairman of the Union of Artists of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, opened the event and spoke about the crimes committed against the people of Azerbaijan during the events of January 20. He said that even though our people gave martyrdom for freedom and sovereignty in this struggle, they did not change their will. Our artists always reflect this heroic period of our history in their works. In the exhibition opened today, the paintings of Nakhchivan artists, which include the events of January 20, are displayed.
Asip Kaya, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Nakhchivan, emphasized that the events of January 20 are the true history of Azerbaijan's struggle for freedom and independence, and said that the memory of the martyrs is dear to the Azerbaijani and Turkish peoples.
Then there were performances by artists.
It should be noted that 30 works of 15 artists are exhibited in the exhibition that will last for a week.
