"NAKHCHIVAN - THE CRADLE OF HUMANITY" II INTERNATIONAL ART FESTIVAL

The 3rd International Art Festival "Nakhchivan - the cradle of humanity" was held with the support of the Knowledge Foundation under the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Since the establishment of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, culture, art, as well as fine arts have undergone a great development. During the first and second periods of national leader Heydar Aliyev's leadership in Azerbaijan, a new stage in the development of national culture and fine arts began, the state's care for the development of art increased, and the creative process expanded. Drawing attention to the great development of Azerbaijan's fine arts, national leader Heydar Aliyev said: “Azerbaijan School of Painting and Fine Arts has taken a worthy place in the world. In a short historical period, a beautiful, strong school of fine arts and a school of painting were established in Azerbaijan. ”

Consistent measures have been taken in the development of painting and fine arts in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Thus, the Bahruz Kangarli Museum, the first realist artist of Azerbaijan, the founder of professional bench painting, was established, the Bahruz Kangarli Exhibition Hall of the Artists 'Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was established, the fine arts and calligraphy specialties were opened at Nakhchivan State University and the Nakhchivan Teachers' Institute. The Heydar Aliyev Children-Youth and Aesthetic Education Center and the Ertogrul Javid School of Music and Arts have created all-round conditions for the training of young artists and the teaching of the art of painting. In addition, the Nakhchivan State Art Gallery, 10 out-of-school institutions and children's art schools operate in the autonomous republic.

The Artists 'Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic also paid attention to increasing the creative potential of artists living and working in the autonomous republic, creating favorable conditions for them, and in 2013 a new building was commissioned for the Artists' Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. In the Autonomous Republic, the old workshops where artists work have been replaced by new ones. The celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Artists' Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic by the Order of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic dated July 23, 2011 is a visual manifestation of the state's care for art in the autonomous republic.

The opening of the B.Kangarli Artists' Park in Nakhchivan on May 25, 2016 with the participation of artists attending the festival and the erection of a monument to the prominent artist is another expression of the attention paid to B.Kangarli's heritage and the high value given to art in the autonomous republic.

The opening of individual exhibitions of artists, the preparation and publication of album-catalogs of classical and modern representatives of the art of painting in Azerbaijan are important factors determining the level of fine arts in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the direction of creative pursuits.

Ancient Nakhchivan has become a great creative site. The examples of creativity realized today are a great history for the future. This history is passed on to future generations not only in the works of experts, but also in the works of creative people. The holding of the III International Art Festival "Nakhchivan - the cradle of humanity" in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is of special importance in this regard.

The festival, held at the Alinjagala historical monument in Julfa district, allowed the participants to express their impressions of the great land in all its freshness. In their works, local and foreign artists were able to reflect the national values ​​of Nakhchivan, both directly and figuratively, about what they saw and heard about Nakhchivan.
