FESTIVAL "COLORS OF MY COUNTRY" DEDICATED TO THE 95TH ANNIVERSARY

OF THE NAKHCHIVAN AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC

  Historically, there has been a great interest in the art of painting in Nakhchivan. Starting from the 12th century, under the influence of the school of architecture founded by Ajami Nakhchivani, along with architects, artists and other masters of decorative applied arts were trained, and the Nakhchivan School of Art was formed. Bahruz Kangarli, Shamil Gaziyev, Ibrahim Safi and other prominent artists, who laid the foundation of Azerbaijani realist painting in the early twentieth century, are students of this school.

   The art of painting in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is still covered with comprehensive care. By the relevant orders of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Mr. Vasif Talibov, the exhibition hall of the Artists' Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was named after Bahruz Kangarli, the Nakhchivan School of Children's Music and Arts was named after Ertogrul Javid, the Bahruz Kangarli Museum and Artists Park were established monument was erected. At the same time, the 120th anniversary of Bahruz Kangarli, the 110th anniversary of Shamil Gaziyev, the 120th anniversary of Ibrahim Safi and the 40th anniversary of the Union of Artists were widely celebrated in the autonomous republic. In 2013, the Artists' Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was provided with a new building under the care of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly.

  Improving the creative potential of artists in the Autonomous Republic was also taken into account, workshops with all conditions were opened for artists, their individual exhibitions were organized, album-catalogs were published, and distinguished artists were awarded honorary titles.

  In the Autonomous Republic, attention was paid to the identification of talented young artists and their deeper study of the art of painting, specialties of fine arts teaching and painting were opened at Nakhchivan State University and Nakhchivan Teachers' Institute, and necessary conditions were created for art clubs in out-of-school educational institutions.

  Mr. Vasif Talibov, Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, stressed the importance of care for the art of painting. There are professional artists in our autonomous republic. They are known not only in our country but also outside Azerbaijan, exhibitions are organized in different countries.   Today, consistent measures are being taken in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to preserve and develop the art school, which has a rich history, and creative people are being supported.   A festival-competition under the motto "Nakhchivan 95" was organized by the Knowledge Foundation under the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Artists' Union of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. These works glorify the national values ​​of our people, historical monuments, landscaping work carried out in recent years and landscapes of Nakhchivan.

  The winners of the competition were awarded cash prizes and diplomas of the Artists' Union by the Knowledge Foundation under the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
